I Need Help!

I got my boar yesterday, and he hanst been active at all, he just cuddles up in his cubby and doesnt come out when i put veggies in his cage, and I'm worried cause i dont know if he has been eating and drinking enough!

When you first bring home a new piggy they will be very shy and timid. You must give them a few days to settle in, this is perfectly normal as they will be nervous of their new surroundings. As long as the food is actually eaten/he is not ill do not worry,

Hideys/igloos usually make them feel more at home. you can try to interact with him in a few days by hand feeding first.

Hi! Here are tips for settling in new guinea pigs. it is usually worse if you just have one piggy as they feel even more exposed and out of their depth without the support of a companion.

In the long term, it would be good if you considered getting a companion, but please do your research first to avoid problems. We may be able to help with tips as to what is the best way forward depending on your location.
