It's been ages since I was on here, so hi again! I've been without internet for so long.

Anyway, I've got two older boys who live in the shed, but now I have indoor piggies too! This is totally new to me, so I'm needing indoor cage recommendations. They are 10 weeks old, and they went into a Ferplast 100 cage, as I had it spare from when I adopted Milo (my last piggy, he came with that cage but has been bonded with my other boy so it was empty). Anyway, I knew the 100 was too small, but I thought it would be OK for them as babies, but even now I can see its really quite small for them.

So, I recently won £50 in a competition :)) so I have a bit more to spend so I'm going to buy them a new cage. Which ones are good ones? I looked at the 120, and I like that it has a stand, but I think I may end up feeling that is too small as well so was looking more at the 145/150 cages. Which ones do you have or recommend? Does anyone have the Liberta 150 cage, its on offer from £139 to £99 on petplanet right now. The Ferplast 140 is also on offer right now, at £100, so basically, its a £1 of a difference, and I'm wondering which would be recommended.

The details -

Obviously I would cover the shelf on the Liberta. It's 150cm x 74cm x 60cm.
The Ferplast is 140cm x 71cm x 51cm.

I think its obvious which one would be the better size wise, but I just want to know if its good quality.

I think either are a pretty reasonable size for 2 boys. Bigger is obviously better, maybe have a look around on like ebay as i got my two ferplast 120s really reasonable from there, I paid 1.04 for one of them which i collected.

Hello! Nice to see you on here. xx :)) xx

Well I have the Ferplast 140 which is fine (it's now meshed and in use as a luxury Syrian hamster cage!) but if I could have fitted the Liberta cage in the gap I would have much preferred that tbh. I think they're great cages and seem to be more robust than the Ferplast. There's some pics of them in the 'sticky' at the top.

I now have 7 guinea pigs so they're living in a huge C&C cage lol. But the Ferplast has been a very useful cage and would have been fine had I just stuck with 2 guinea pigs.....

I got my ferplast 120 from ebay and I'm very pleased that my piggies love it. It is, by consensus, the correct size for two piggies but I would go much larger if I could. I am looking into building a C&C cage in the future because I like the fact the piggies and contained but are at the same time open and accessible. I saw a brilliant idea on here a few days ago where someone had constructed their C&C cage along a length of kitchen worktop (probably in a utility room) but it made a great safe space for the babies and great viewing for the owners. I'd love to do that but I have my babies in the living room with me. The choice is yours but the bigger the better. Think of it like this would you prefer a small flat or a massive house? Good luck and enjoy your piggies.

I have 2 120s by ferplast and paid £40 for one and £30 for the other, they're a nice size that fits easily in most houses. I did have a 140 but sold it because it just didnt fit anywhere in my new house every space is 120cm so it had to go, the 140 was a brilliant size but the pigs are just fine in the 120s too.

If you can afford the extra money and have the space i’d always go as big as possible, i had a 120cm cage for just one piggy but i felt it didn’t have that much space, especially in comparison to my boys 2x4 C&C cage.

The bigger the cage the better :) Personally i would get the 150.

I went with the Liberta in the end, it was £99, and £2.50 delivery to the Highlands! :) It came in two days, and it is MASSIVE! It's very sturdy too.

Little piggies look lost in it.

Pigtures are a must I think...... :))

I second that :)) hehe, am looking for a slight cage upgrade for my 2 piggies and are currently in a ferplast 120, but can probs at a squeeze and a move around fit 140/150cm cage. Would you recommend the Liberta?

Very much so. It's large, well made and a really good price (£99 on PetPlanet at the moment).

I loved my liberta it was my first guinea pig cage, I had the 100 and 120, they are such great cages! Looking forward to seeing some pics :)
