Hello All,

Please could someone tell me if I am doing this correctly?

I am converting my boys over to fleece from wood shavings , but need to know if I am lining their cage properly.

I have a fleece (washed 3 times, with washing liquid only), puppy wetting pads, and a towel.

Now do I put the towel in first, then the puppy pads and lay the fleece on top?

I am a little worried though that the boys will be lying on a wet fleece as its going to be directly on top of the puppy pads, should I put a towelling mattress cover between them?

Thank you very much

You shouldn't need a towel if puppy pads are underneath the fleece, the pads should lock the moisture away, when they feel wet through they need changing. The fleece should stay dry on top if it's wicking properly ( it does tend to work better the more non bio washes it's been through ).
You could always put the towels down as a bottom layer if it's cold and you want to add extra insulation.
I used puppy pads for a while but now just use incontinence mattress toppers under the fleece which last longer than puppy pads. They do however require a substanstial amount of washes before they become a hundred percent effective at locking the moisture away which is why I used the pads as a back up in the high wee areas for a while.
