As the title says really, I need to find a run that is suitable for what is possibly going to end up being a herd of 13 piggies ( :x )!

A wooden run won't work because the vast majority of our garden is uneven, so I think a galvanised metal one with panels that can shift slightly or be moved to get around the lumps and bumps would be a better idea. But I don't know how big it ideally needs to be. Somehow I can't picture that many piggies and a run in my head!

Any suggestions as to what I could look at would be greatly appreciated! :)

EDIT: I've also looked at something like this but I'm not sure it's quite big enough?

Try to build it yourself. It can be how big you want and what shape and design.

Ooh I like that! What panel runs do you use?

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/runs_fencing/pens_with_racks/229211 - I quite like this one; panels aren't the longest but as it's quite cheap and can be attatched to another one, I could get two or even three of these for my herd. I don't know how long yours is, but I could possibly do to get panels as long as yours; that's a great space!

I can only give my current herd (7) about 1mx2m (if that!) in this:

It works, but they could do with more space! Definitely can't put thirteen in that!

you can buy in packs of 4 or 6...
i bought 6 the other day at £41:o
so there not cheap... but i think there brill... they dont cause the grass to die underneath them like wooden runs do... you can have the shape to fit the garden rather than a square...
maybe 6 would do your space...?
and there from the notorious p@h but they were the only place i could find the seperate pannels...
x
p.s. beautiful piggies... drool

Space isn't a problem, our garden is pretty large! Where we have them in that picture is the flattest bit in the shady part of the garden; the only place I can actually set that run up :/ . Really we just need something flexible. It's hard because I'd like to have one like the 2x1m I linked above that I can put a roof/net on so I won't be afraid to leave them for a little while...

Not easy!

And thank you! Shame Munchie is only showing us her butt in that photo! :)

they come with nets to go over the top... but they dont fit the shape of my run... haha... i never go out of the house and leve them out... they do always have to go back in... thats the only down side really...
could you build a lid...?... and muchie has a lovely fluffy butt... :))

Mum! The nice lady says I have a lovely fluffy butt! I thought so too!

:D I think with those hexagonal or octagonal ones I can disconnect one panel on one side per run, swing it to the side and connect the two shapes that way. That way, if it's moved, there would just be the join that wouldn't be covered; they'd keep their shapes and therefore the net would stay on, and I can use some wire netting to connect the 'bridge' up... I hope that makes sense! Now I just need to get an idea of how big both runs would be, it'd be 12 or 16 panels depending on which run I go for, so I think that would be pretty big? :D

hehe... I'm a sucker for fluffy butts... i'll try and get a photo of madam mardy butt... she has an amazing fluffy butt... :))
that sounds like a great idea...!... you could secure the net with some pegs aswell... i pegg blankets on to my run to cover them over.. :))
that would be a brill size...!

i've got the run that you linked to, and it really is massive. i only use it for 2 piggies at the moment, with a third to join soon, but i think it would probably be big enough for quite a few (i'm struggling to picture that many piggies too).

my thought a while back was actually to buy a second of the same run and join them together. the way that they're made up is different panels with rods to join panels together, so i think in theory it could work. the easiest way is probably to do it length-ways, as the end panel i've shown in the photo is independent from all the other ones. i do think it would work and then it would definitely be enough for your guineas!

i suppose maybe buy one (especially for that price), and then see how that works for you, and decide if you need a second. the run itself is so brilliant, they're totally secure inside, i end up leaving them out all day in it, and of course you can drape towels across the top etc for shade. really can'y fault it and can't recommend it highly enough x

I don't think we have enough flat space to have two of those together without having bits where our escape artistes can get out of! We have TONS of lawn space, just not a lot of flat lawn space. One of those is only about 2 sq/m I believe.

I've mentioned to my dad that if we get three of http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/runs_fencing/pens_with_racks/229211 these, we can get 5 sq meters if they're in a rectangle, and we can move it to get over the lumps and bumps and make funky shapes out of it. Would work out rather large I think! I'm worried that I wont be able to use the nets, so I might have to get some normal netting and peg it on to give some protection. They'd never be left should I leave the house, but as I spend most of my time in my room, it'd be nice to be able to leave them and check every 20 mins on them. We don't get cats because our bunnies chase them off and they've learned that it's not a good idea to take on territorial grumpy rabbits!

I'm going to wet myself though when I realise how many 13 is... 7 doesn't seem all that many, but when I consider the fact that my herd will pretty much double in one go... EEK! :D
