It took me two days and lots of blisters from using a screwdriver (no power tools here) and here it is, my 3ft wide by 8ft long run with two trixie houses attached outside it. The piggies loved exploring it today!

now what can I build next!?

Brilliant and sooo much space for them :)) I have those plastic shelves as hay trays too for my boys, they're great aren't they :(|)
Your piggies are lovely drool

THose vegetable stacking shelves are great, very cheap and the girls use them as bunk beds!

:(|) I spotted them outside a £1 shop on my way home from work a while back - perfect size for the pens and put them next to their bedrooms as they like to sleep on the roof. They sit waiting and wheeking like crazy until I put the fresh mountain of hay in then just divebomb into it and disappear :(|) So funny to watch :))
Never thought of bunk beds rolleyes, great idea and feel a little walk to the shop again ;)

Lovin the run. its fab! Oh thats reminded me of what you have used as hay racks in your hutch I have orange ones of those just sitting in our green house doing nothing... Iam so going to use a couple now as comfy hay places :))

Love your mixture of piggies too x) Oh and what a genius idea using a ball bit as a make shift C&C cage... Love it! I wanted to get one of those for my ferrets as a ball pit for them...

I wish i could DIY I would make loads of things! i have to ask my dad to do it which i hate asking :{ luckily he loves doing it.

My next project is a cover for the run so they can use it when it's raining too, I don't like shutting them in the hutch all the time. Better get on the net to find some clear tarpaulin..........
Glad everyone likes my run:) my colourful piggies like it too!

Hi please could you tell me how much it roughly cost you to build this and where you got the materials from, I'm looking to build exactly the same but longer and seperated into 5 for my single piggies so they can see but not hurt each other

Thank you x

Hi, I went to Wickes and bought two packs of treated wood, 8 lengths in a pack at 2.4 mtr long per length.

You could do it cheaper if there is a reclaimed wood recycling centre near you (I found out there was one in Bristol after I made my run).

I used angle braces to join all my wood as I have no power tools, a drill and electric screwdriver would have saved me loads on hardware.

The weld mesh came from my local DIY store, they priced it up wrong I think as they looked suprised at the price!

It could have been much cheaper if I'd used recycled wood and used power tools!

You have been busy! Great idea with the veg stackers, I was standing in Home Bargains yesterday looking at some thinking.." hmmmm, bet I could us them for the piggies but how?" lol!
It's gets addictive doesn't it? I was making houses and runs all week last week. Decided to give the tools and zip ties a rest this week tho, got the sewing machine out today and started making piggie tents. :)
