So I have put the girls ono fleece, with a toddler dry night pad under:)) (had some left over from my kids) and WOW

They love it, I love it! It looks fab (all pink:))) and is so dry to touch. No smells what so ever. So thank you!

Hubby was a bit like mallethead when I told him, but he has since said it looks so much better and the girls are out and about more!

So if you have not tried it, why not?

with so many piggies i think using fleece is not pratical enough for me. id need so much of it! id love to try it but am worried about the smell. i couldnt wash it everyday (i do two loads of washing per day as it is without 10 fleeces too!)
i may give it a try for birthing mummys and for when the babies are born :)

I too love fleece, and I'm thrilled you and your girls have taken to it so well too!

However, I know it doesn't work well for some people either due to large numbers of pigs, no washing machine access, or just a difficult 'trial'.

I love using fleece for my piggies and they love it too :))
I wont use anything other than fleece xx

I now love fleece too. I used to love Vetbed, but it needs washing more often so now i only use it in the bed area. fleece always looks more warm and toasty ^) all three of the piggies i currently have love the fleece.

Thanks:) I wondered why people didn't! That makes sense to me. TBH when I first read about fleece I was like ewwww:{ how gross lol I put mine down on Monday and still doesn't need washing! Maybe I am lucky and have clean girls, but they like their litter tray so mess mostly in there bar a few stay poops, so I change that every 2-3 days, once I can't hand pick (with glove on!) the poops, they do have a cat litter tray size though lol! Before they would poop and pee in their bedding:{

Keep them coming

My 2 have fleece aswell, they popcorn even after me sweeping the poo (sometimes during!) so they must love it! :(|)

I need to buy some more though I think, I want a festive one.

I love putting a new fleece down and seeing the cage all spotless, cosy and clean - until you put hay in the rack and then Skunky pig attacks it rolleyes:)) I have a small plastic dustpan and brush and use that to spotclean until I wash the fleece... it seems really easy to keep clean. They haven't quite mastered the corner loo yet though, they just tend to sleep in it!

What I really need now are some cheap towels to put under the fleece, so will try and get some of those over the weekend.

I also give them a scrunched up fleece during floortime. I put their run in front of the gas fire on low and they both just snuggle up - my piggies love their fleece!

i use fleece for my 13 boars its fantastic! requires a little more cleaning than some beddings but if you use towels or puppy pads underneath it absorbs so well, looks good and its soft on there little feet too;)
i also think it would be easier to detect changes in urine;)
ill be getting another 8 piggies soon and will continue to use fleece although I'm sure its not easy:(|)

All of my friends laugh at me when I say i have piggie laundry! I have to do them separate from all other laundry...so towels and fleece get their own load....more money...but better for them i believe.

i do love fleece and my boys do like to sprawl out on it however it can be a pain what with extra washing that has to be done seperate from everything else and my boys are not tidy little piggies. and i think ive developed an addiction to buying fleece!

oh yeah, the fleece buying addiction... I know it! I think I saw fleece in one of Bonnies cages that was blue with little red and yellow space rockets on it? I loved that pattern... but I'm trying not to give people more reasons to mock me for being a childless woman in her 30ies making her pigs kid substitutes. -unfortunately.

My squeakers are outside so I bed them down on hay and newspaper which works really well for me. I couldn't be doing with having to keep washing the fleece. However, I am going to try fleece in a hutch which is in the rabbits' shed for the rabbits to go in whenever they want to. As the rabbits won't wee on it, I'll only have to shake poos off it, and so hopefully won't have to wash it.

I've got to admit I tried Robbie on fleece but he didn't really take to it, stayed in his house most of the time so I changed back to hay and he loves it. It did look nice for all of 2 minutes until his hay rack was in and that was it, it looked like he was on hay not fleece lol.

Joy xx
