I live in an apartment complex, and have a neighbor that smokes pot. How can I combat that awful odor safely for my piggie and I?

There is no way to tell *Who* is smoking pot, I tried calling the cops and it didn't help. I have a neighbor who let's say, seem to love the skunk weed. It seems like every month they decide to fly high without a plane ticket, and stink up the complex with that awful smell. I am sure my guinea pig isn't liking it either. I read it isn't safe to use scented candles, waxes, or incense around my piggie, but I must know, is there any products out there that can combat this odor for both piggie and piggie mommy? I can really use the advice, and even some Amazon references, to defend our noses when they decide to visit Mars.

I’m so sorry for you. If you don’t live on the ground floor can you open your windows and ventilate right through the apartment? If you are only the ground floor open smaller windows, ones that cats and other animals can’t get in. Can you write to your local council environmental health team and also write to the police, sometimes it adds more weight
Good luck

You don't say which Country you live in but here you can report them to the Council.
My daughter had this problem, when I was visiting one day I said in a very loud voice, goodness do you have to put up with that stink often? Her neighbour started smoking at the bottom of the garden and not by the backdoor which meant the smoke no longer entered her house.

If you could afford it an electrical air filter/ dehumidifier would help you and the piggy

Unfortunately, I live in the US so I can't contact the counsel.

US. I assume the council is a Euorpean thing. Often, I actually have a phrase for it. "Smells like someone just got paid."

Do you have a US department that deals with local issues like environmental health/local taxes/street maintenance/nuisance issues etc that’s what our councils deal with here in the UK

Or if you are renting the flat you should be able to contact your landlord or the building management.
You could also look into an air purifier.
If your windows are close the smell shouldn't be coming into the flat, and then you could run a purifier.
Or depending on where the smell is coming from you could open the windows on the other side of the flat.

Realistically unless they are smoking right outside your open window or door the smell really shouldn't be that strong in your own apartment.

You'd be surprised we live in a terrace house and have had similar problems with our neighbours the smell comes through the walls and through any little cracks luckily knocking on the door and threatening to call the police was enough to persuade our neighbours to walk down to the end of the street where everyone else does it but it sounds like it's not that easy in this case.

It isn't. Especially since the smell is getting into the ventilation so it isn't easy to tell which apartment the weed smoker is.
