I'm obviously not new to this, but I feel like I'm new to this lol. Obviously it's been a while and I want to make sure I'm not remembering things wrong.

Is it a problem I can't work out where they're urinating? I thought it would be in their beds but while their beds have been pooped in, I can't find any sign of urine. There is a large wet area near the half empty water bottle, which is the one they prefer to drink from, but I can't tell how much of that is somepig just emptying the bottle, hah. Although the bottles definitely aren't leaking.

They're still reluctant to let me handle them. This is absolutely fair I think, it's been a busy few days and I sound very different to what they're used to. Both of them will allow me to stroke them, they're not afraid of me, just unwary. But their nails need a trim and I'm not sure how long to leave it before it absolutely needs doing.

I also could do with finding another small ceramic bowl. They're not fighting over what's in it, just squabbling and not even serious squabbles at that, but I'd rather not risk it. But everywhere I look the bowls seem too big. If anyone knows where I could buy a little one online, thanks in advance.

They're great, btw. Just sayin'.

Good morning.Glad to hear they boys are settling in.

I never use a bowl i just sprinkle food and nuggets around the cage, its more natural as they would forage in the wild (although not sure skinny pigs have ever been wild). I do pop a little bowl under the water bottle to help catch the drips. They are maybe peeing on the fleece and it will wick down to the bottom, Dora and Ginger do pee in their fleece hidies but the grey fleece usually does a good job of soaking it up (i change it most days) but the hay is favourite place for a pee, i think urine soaked hay must taste lovely. :vom:

I pick Dora and Ginger up in a fleece bag as my hands are often cold and they really don't like cold hands. Dora and Ginger squabble about everything food, beds, hay, its never gone beyond that. Although, Dora usually gets what she wants.

This is a really great ceramic bowl type for a pair of piggies who want to eat together but wont share:

Ollie and Tallulah have one of these, each half is like 4 inches/10cm across and 3cm/just over an inch deep. Its a Rosewood one from Amazon, but actually this one is spare now seeing as my group of 7 switched to long ceramic plates that serve 3-4 pigs lol- so if you want me to send it to you, maybe wrapped in a 1x2 fleece pad you can pop under your waterbottle spout to stop them getting their paws wet, and a few other spare fleecy bits, just PM me your address- I have a fair few spare fleecy things since my last 2 additions arrived with a sack full of their own!

Thank you both! I think the squabbling is because they can't fit both heads into the one bowl :)) it's not serious, but it would be nice to avoid. I sprinkle the food around for them, it's more for nuggets when I can't tell the difference between them and poops unless I get very close up. And since it's only a small amount of nuggets anyway the less they squabble about it, why not?

I pulled the grey fleece out of one hideys to change it, replaced it, and now Camowen's shoved the new stuff up against the wall of it instead. That's not how it's supposed to work!

Camowen looks perfectly happy with the his rearrangement of fleece. Dora and Ginger often do the same, we also have some fleecy pads we put in the hidies but not sure where i got them from now. I think someone on the forum may have made them for me but i can't remember who it was.

Dora uses her grey fleece to block the doorway so that Ginger can't get in with her. :)) Ginger likes to push his way under all the fleece and poop there. 💩

Its funny that nuggets look the same going in as they do coming out. 😂

I've lifted the grey fleece out, with the occasional dominance displays going on I think they're forgetting there's actually an escape route there :doh:or at least that's what I thought, but then they're still both in there. It's not continual or anything, if they wanted to leave they could.

I wouldn't worry too much, they wouldn't stay in the same hidey if they didn't want too. We found them asleep together in one bed when they were here. It could be a comfort thing after all the upheaval that has happened to them in last few days.

I use megazorb bedding for my skinny pigs,I can say they drink way .ore, eat more than my hairy guinea pigs.i scoop the wet areas of megazorb out as needed.i could not cope with fleece liners with the skinny pigs !I use a bowl for pellets 3 hamster bowls so no arguments.two 600mls water bottles.veg gets scattered around the cage.i Place piles of hay over the megazorb that really helps me.we have a 2nd level with fleece, and hides, litter tray with hay.your setup is fab.
