I really hate ticks. And we have got a lot of them in our garden. Last year I found a tick on Billie, but she was really patient while I removed it. I must have brought it home with dandelion and gras from the garden.
I talked to my specialist vet about a tick repellent, but since it was more then 5 years since the last tick on a piggy (I've got them all the time ), we agreed that it wouldn't be necessary.

Today I found a little 'bumb' on Odi that could be a tick. But it doesn't look quite like Billie's tick. Unfourtunately Odi isn't as patient as Billie. And both times I could grab the tick with the tick tweezers, he reacted as if I'd hurt him. That's a bit strange, because usually it doesn't hurt to remove a tick. So I'm going to call my vet tomorrow.
But the timing couldn't be worse (they seem to smell it when my work calender ist really full).

OUCH!

Ticks are thankfully not quite as much of a problem for guinea pigs here in the UK but best have him seen and vet checked. These things always happen at a really inconvenient time! :(

Okay, it wasn't a tick. It's a wart (if we are lucky) or something more sinister (if we aren't). Today I was only able to see the vet who is not my first choice for piggies, but at least I was allowed inside.
So I'm going to watch this thing to see if it get's bigger.
And Odi now officially holds the title for worst ever behavior during a car ride. I could rent hin out to shedder things. Just put Odi and the papers into a box and drive around the block.
