its annoyin food is always on my floor i want a C&C cage or like one with a plastic base but i have 3pigs and wanting more but i cannot get grids where i live does anyone on here sell stuff for C&C cages that can go to australia, i really am so despite8... to have one :(

I've seen your cage and I love your cage x), but I can see what you mean there's not really any way of expanding it or even just changing it around when you get fed up of it :(
I have a C&C cage set up, but I'm thinking of changing it, and my idea might help you out a bit. I am going to take all the grids out of the front and replace them with perspex cut into squares the same size as 1 grid with a whole drilled in each corner so I can cable tie them together, they would be just as versatile to change around as the grids and there is no reason I can see why you couldn't make a whole cage out of them. You can even get the perspex in different colours so I'm thinking of putting a couple of bright coloured squares here and there around the cage 8;)

If you can get correx you can just make the tray out of thicker stuff without grids which i think looks nicer you can always put them on tables if you want a 2 level cage or build a wooden frame for the trays

You could build a cage from other materials you can find. I've seen some people use wire closet shelves or even baking cooling rack. You can use anything as long as the spacing between the bars are safe (no bigger than 1.5 inches).

Another idea is to use a bookcase that wide enough. Turn it on it's side then add correx (I think they are called Corflute in Australia?)

I used to have C&C and got tired of how the cage look. My new cage is built from wood and plexiglass (perspex).

Correx, I get here: http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/corrugatedplastic.asp?parentcatname=Corrugated%20Plastic&parentcat=32

Grids are more tricky to find, I would try eBay, Amazon or see if you can get them ordered from B&Q though I don't really bother looking there, they messed up my order last time.

Here's one I found: http://www.buy-stationery.co.uk/products/Safco-Wire-Cubes-Storage-System-Black-5279BL-GU52792?Page=YDF4BDRAZnE7HjgdMU9/QH9U
I normally explore the web till I can find some that include delivery for about £20 (if I'm lucky).

Reminds me, I must check up on the site in the US selling all this stuff, see if they're shipping to the UK yet as she told me.

Just be careful when getting grids, you dont want the squares big enough for piggies to get their heads stuck in - I try and get mesh grids wherever possible because of this.

heh nope i dont have a bunners close only 6hrs away and i *** drive

You can make a cage you like by yourself or buy a new.In my opinion,do it by yourself will be more meaningfull.:(|)

Thats what I was going to suggest. Dont know if they do it over there, but over here they do a roofing material called corotherm. Its see through and thicker than correx. It can stand up on its own and will look really nice without grids. I reckon its even strong enough to build a second level with fairly little support. Have a look in the roofing section of a diy store :) Also found this, not sure if its helpful. As I said, you dont need grids, just walk around your local diy store and be inventive in what might work!

If you use these, I would make sure the correx is high enough, incase your guinea pigs nibble. I have seen them being used and actually think they look better than normal grids! :)

Good luck!
