I’ve been trying to teach coco and Olivia to respond to whik whik for the past 4 months and nothing has been working. They only come when I have the treat in my hand but they don’t come when I call them. I know I should be patient but I’m done , no more I give up ☹️

I think you just have to accept that they’re generally lead by their stomachs and they don’t want to come unless there’s food in it for them. What are you wanting them to do when you can them? My girls don’t really come to me unless it’s time for food. I’ve accepted that’s how they are and it may never change.

Any training with piggies is food related or because you provide them with a specific activity they really want. Otherwise it is no go.

When you watch cute videos on social media you do not necessarily see the training/rewarding that is going into them. But while piggies may eventually come to like you for own, it's generally cupboard love.

I think you’ll just have to accept that’s why they come. Be careful not to give too many peas flakes, however cute their begging faces are 😃

I'm not sure how great pigs are at learning voice commands like that. We had one who would popcorn if we said, "Popcorn!" a few times in a really excited voice, but I'm not sure if she understood what we wanted or if we were just winding her up with our enthusiasm! Also, she was the smartest pig we ever had, the others didn't seem to have her aptitude for tricks.

Our will run over to the bars if they think we might have food (and they know who is most likely to feed them and are most enthusiastic about him!) and they do seem to get excited if I say they are getting treats (they do seem to know the word), but again, it's all food motivated! LOL!

I've taught my pigs to put their front paws on my hand to be rewarded with a pellet. It takes a lot of time and patience. I also do it multiple times throughout the day which is ok with pellets but not so good with pea flakes. And sometimes they just won't want to.
