I found the weirdest thing in my guinea pigs cage.... 😥

I found this weird furball thing in my guinea pigs cage... they are acting normal but I’m really worried. Is this normal?!

Has it come out of their hay? Unfortunately finding remnants of creatures caught up in the hay process happens

That doesnt honestly look like it came from your guinea pig, more likely something that came in mixed with the hay? If something like that came off or out of a guinea pig I imagine they would be very obviously ill...

Maybe check your hay, might be best to open a new bag or box... hay being a natiral product harvested mechanically does sometimes contain unwelcome surprises!

Yes we’d all panic - always great when you realise - luckily I’ve just had bits of wood and a bit of string in my hay. I tend to check the hay thoroughly as it’s just one of those things.

I’ve had a few patches of (what I assume was) rabbit fur in my hay before. Most likely something like that I’d have thought

It definitely looks like something that’s come into your house in the hay. I found Ralph having a stand off with a feather earlier - it must have been in the hay!

Yes definitely don’t feel stupid! I’ve had all sorts in it over the years, rocks, enough feathers to make a bird, plastic bags etc but thankfully no beasties, I’d freak too I’m sure!

Don't feel stupid it's a natural reaction. I found a large stone in one of my cages last week, it gave me quite a start until I thought about it logically.
