Hi, my piggie is new to me and my first.

When i stroke him he vibrates then does this low pitch sqeaky noise. Then hel go in to biting his teeth quickly, it sounds like nibbling. But then hel go into doing the sqeaky noise.

Am i doing something wrong bcos i read something and it said another words hes pissed off and wants me to back off, when i get him out of his cage he dosent run off and i give him as much attention as pissible and his cage is always clean and give him fresh veg and wayer everyday. I'm scared he dont like me or I'm not looking after him properly.i dont understand why hes peed off with me xx jess

I think he is just getting used to you. Piggies can take many months to get used to cuddles. I started off by hand feeding my pigs for a few weeks then gradually holding them without stroking :)

I think it sounds rather like he is busy exploring and getting to know you! He's also a very talkative boy.

Low rumbling means pleasure when it is a bit softer and continuous, whereas when it is very low and sharp, signals displeasure. If it comes with bum wiggling, it signals dominance. You will eventually learn to interpret the sounds correctly. A lot are situational and backed up by body language and other behaviour.

he doesn't dislike you, don't worry. Everything is new to him at the moment and you are learning about him as much as he is about you. What I do with new piggies is I use a treat. When I have them on my knee I use parsley or coriander something piggies love and I only give it them when they are on my knee so they learn that if they come out they get a tasty treat therefore creating a positive response. They soon learn :)

Thanks for the advice, he does bum wiggle on me then wees on me lol and poos but tht might just bcos he needed toilet lol thanks thou made me feel better :) x

They are usually quite good at telling you they need a wee / poo. If they start pulling at your clothes or start teeth chattering it could mean they need a wee / poo. I would put them back when they do this just to check and you may find they do a wee straight away. It's all about you learning what they are trying to tell you!
