A couple of months ago me and OH made the difficult decision to move the piggies outside - OH has asthma and having them indoors was making it much worse and some nights he couldn't breathe :(

So we embarked on a project - I had very kindly been given a (slightly broken!) double storey 6ft hutch by my friend with a view to fostering, but after much consideration it turned out to be much better to convert that one and buy a single storey 6ft for fostering, so after much adjusting and repairing and painting and insulating (and lots of splinters and swearing too!) the piggy palace took form......

It's fully insulated and the insulation is covered in plywood, then the edges are sealed with clear sealant - it makes cleaning so much easier having it sealed!

Whole thing - showing their sign

Open part - where all their food etc is (it looks like sawdust in the photo, but it's actually Auboise incase anyone was worried). You can also see dopey draws sitting in the water bowl....rolleyes and the cover we made for the hole to stop any-pig falling down

Bed part - they now have a Snuggle-OO ultra with heat pad pocket on the top :))

The hutch is inside our workshop, the bunnies live next door (no contact!) and it's so much warmer than outside thank goodness!

Oh that is a lovely house it really is. You should feel very proud x

Oh what a lovely hutch! I love the different areas to keep them entertained and the piggy sign looks gorgeous!

Wow, very nice! I love the colour of the hutch and all the different cosy areas for them to snuggle in!

I'm glad you all like it :)

I'm so worried about them being cold...the purple wooden box is always stuffed full of hay, they make little burrows in the hay its cute

They also have a snugglesafe in the large snuggle-oo which has wadding in it, but unfortunately they can't all fit in it together

I put a big blanket over the open part of the top level each night to try and keep the warm in a bit, but then they have the option to go downstairs

Do you think they are warm enough? It's minus 2 tonight and I'm a little worried

Ill need to get a thermometer so I can check what sort of temperature it gets to I think
