When i put the two boys together they seemed to get on great, but then one was always chasing the other n so every time he went near him he would run away and seemed to be all stressed out. Today i bought a new cage and so they have one each but there is alot of wheeking for each other.

They don't seem to be happy together or apart, what shall i do?

Should i try to introduce them again but more slowly this time?

I'd try them together again, neutral ground with plenty of veggies to distract them. Humping, sniffing & chasing are all normal, i'd not separate unless they draw blood.
They're usually good at letting you know they're not happy either chattering teeth or opening their mouths really wide and or rumble strutting, this is when they move slowly from leg to leg swaying their bums (bit like a sumo wrestler) & they usually square up to one another whilst doing it; any of these signs can precipiatate a full on fight :)

I totally agree, we ended up having to separate our boys in the end but I think unless it's really serious, you should try to keep them together.

Dominance displays and a bit of aggression among same sex piggies is normal, even in mixed pairs this can happen.

You could try giving them a bath together as a bonding exercise and a way to get rid of some of the hormone. Then try putting them together on neutral ground and see how they do. If they're wheeking when they're separated, it means they're not ready to be apart just yet.

Best of luck :)

Chasing and minor dominance displays are pretty normal... unless there is an actual fight with blood drawn I would let the two of them work it out before separating them. I only have sows, but even so sometimes ones will chase around or otherwise irritate the heck out of the other, but no one has ever gotten hurt and they always work it out in the end.
