but when i had my guinea pigs just over a week ago, i posted on here worried about them squaring up to eachother.some people put on here that it was probably them deciding whos boss. I'm just wandering should it still be going on? ive had them in there run outside on the grass today, and they seemed fine until i went and sat down next to them for a half hour-then i started talking to them and they started like quietly rumbling sort of thing, and going round chewing on every blade of grass like there was no tomorrow! then they started squaring up to eachother again and they were even opening there mouths to eachother(i wouldnt say they were going to bite eachother)but I'm no expert! do you think i should seperate them now or give them a bit more time? honestly- i never saw them doing it until i went over and started to talk to them and sit down!gemx:{:{:{:{:{:{

my boys tend to do that in the garden too, just in case one has a better blade of grss than the other...

I have girls...but when i brought in Molly...Abby got all defensive and kept lifting herself higher on her legs and lifting her chin opening her mouth. I've read that they are trying to be 'bigger'....be the dominant one. they still do it now and again...one will pass by the other and they will do that...then popcorn away. I hope your boys get better about it soon!

My boys still rumble at each other, do the chin up thing, wiggle their bums, the whole works. They are just one year old and have been together since birth. I think it is just what they do. I have two sets of bonded boys here as well waiting to go to their new homes and they do all this stuff as well, but they cuddle up and are fine. It's a boy thing. Unless they actually go for each other, what they are doing is pretty normal. xx

freddie always rumbling and wagging bum at basil basil always backs away some times when i talk freddie i just tell him stop being stupid . but its normal its only like us humans having bickers with our brother or sister
