Hi. I just wanted to get advice on whether or not I should bring both piggies to the vet. If it were a surgery, or something more intense that may require an overnight stay at the vet for monitoring, since my piggies are separated, would it be good or bad to bring the other along? (If we were permitted too). They’re currently separated by bars, but I feel one would get stressed without any interaction with the other for more then a normal vet trip amount of time. Any advice appreciated.

As they are separated then that may make things harder and you would have to ask the vet at the time the situation arose. When piggies are bonded and live together, when one goes to the vet, they both should go; if one has to stay overnight, often the vet will allow both to stay overnight. However, given in your situation it would require two cages at the vet, they may not be able to accommodate them both if the cages are all full. Plus, the cages at my vet are solid dividers, so they would not be able to see each other through bars anyway.

If they normally only interact through the bars then I would just take a single piggy to the vet.
As they are not used to constant companionship I think it isn't necessary to take both and would likely just stress both piggies.

If they're normally separated by bars, I would leave the well pig at home. There really wouldn't be an option for the vet to keep them together-but-separate, if you know what I mean.

For what it's worth, my vet has only ever wanted me to bring the one in for surgery- but they have never had to keep them overnight, they do surgeries in the morning and have you pick up in the afternoon. I have taken them together for checkups booked back-to-back. When one of my pigs had surgery and was gone the entire day, I think it was actually more stressful for the pig at home, who kept looking for her buddy every time I walked past... I think the pig at the vet was having a disrupted enough day, as she was anesthetized/drugged up most of the time.
