I am looking to buy a hutch, not for my guineas but for rabbits, I am asking on the rabbit forum also but wanted to know if anyone has a good quality hutch and what make it is. I need ideally either a 5 by 2 foot or a 6 by 2 foot double hutch with ramps.

I have seen a lot of trixie hutches on the net and wondered if anyone has seen what the quality is like in real life. I have been to every pet shop I can think of in my area but most are too small and the ones at pets at home (although primrose cottage is big enough) are shockly bad quality!

thanks I posted here first - will def be getting a comfy pets one! they are so reasonable compared to the stuff they sell in shops!

Yep Comfypets is great! I got my rabbit run from there and i is great quality! :(|) However, someone posted on another forum that the hutches are brilliant for inside a shed or garage but not very weather proof for outside? It might not be the case but it's best to know right? ;) Good Luck with whatever you buy! :)

They are o.k, but the thickness of wood between floors is quite thin. Also the head height is only 20" which is 4" short of the recommended head height to enable a bun to periscope. You might be o.k if it is a little nethie though. I'd want to see a larger run attached too or access to a larger run for daily exercise.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. The run is not an issue as during the colder weather they will be coming inside to use an indoor run for at least 4 hours a day and in warmer weather will also use an outdoor run on the grass!

That sounds good, but you will have to go careful with bringing them in and out in the colder weather. To bring them indoors where itis nice and warm for at least 4 hours and then put them out again in the cold could cause problems with their coat.

Yeah I think that was me. I can't imagine they would be the best quality if left out in the rain all year round. They do make hutch covers though, but they are a bit flimsy.

My lops can both fully stand up in theirs :))
