This will be the first time we have our piggys outdoors this year and I just wanted some advice on where to put the hutch and run. We initially had the piggys in their double hutch without a bottom part for about 2 weeks when we got the last year but decided to bring them in and they have been living quite happily in their run in my dining room ever since. When we put them back into their hutch in April it is in a sheltered and paved area but I wanted to ask should i also connect their run part to the hutch only when we are at home or can this be left on all the time? The reasons why I ask are because I am worried about foxes in the garden as we have chickens and to be fair the lid to the run would be quite easy for a fox to flip off and I'm not sure the actual structure of the run itself is that robust.

The other bit I wanted to ask was as we have a double hutch without a bottom on it we placed a piece of wood that fit inside of the run so that it wouldn't be cold and wet on piggys feet and covered this in puppy pad for extra warmth which seemed to work quite well, however I'm not sure about whether to move the whole run onto the grass without the bottom on so they can eat the grass but I would then have to move it back onto the pavement area when it was wet. Does this make sense? ; ) I'm starting to wish that we just bought a single hutch now as they don't see, very practical unless you live in a nice warm climate that doesn't get wet. Actually we did intend to buy a different hutch but my husband accidental ordered the wrong one, so we decided to keep this one but starting to wish we had sent it back. Any ideas gratefully received!

Our hutch is the outback double hutch with the run
