Sorry for the loads of threads I've created recently but Ive got a bit of a hutch dilemma. This is the hutch my 2 girls are currently in:
http://ukpetsonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=646
The problem is that they don't use the ramp (I've tried everything) so therefore they stay cooped up in the top which i don't think is at all big enough as it is only a 3ft hutch. They also have 3ft x 4ft run which they use everyday weather permitting. Would it be best to get a new hutch (definatly a single level one this time)?

Where are you in the uk? Couldn't you sell this one to put towards another? I was adviced to get a single story hutch and a run but I was worried about the winter having space them to round round in a shed I don't have enough room to do that so I'm saving up for a shed or a walk in Kennel with run ( it's the size of a shed with run attached)
They are indoors for the moment xx

do you think you could make the ramp longer as it does look abit steep and try to disguise with a tunnel piggies love tunnels

I would personnely sell your hutch and buy a bigger (at least 4ft by 2ft ) single story hutch for your pigs. The reason I say this is even if they did start to use the ramp, the wouldn't be able to use the bottom part of the hutch in horrible cold rainy weather as the grass or concrete will be wet and damp which isn't healthy for piggies.

You could try covering the ramp with a tunnel or carpet and leave bits of their favourite food on the ramp to try and make them feel more safe and secure.

Thanks everyone! This isn't their exact hutch but it is very similar. The one they have, has a much longer and less steep ramp. My dad made a tunnel for the ramp but still no success with them using it. Am definatly gonna start searching for a new one right away!

my 4x2 double story is brilliant, we put carpet on the ramp and they zoom up and down. But every pig is different. If i were you i would buy them a bigger single story!
