I'm thinking of buying a hutch cover as the wet season doesn't seem to be letting up and my piggies are arriving in just over a week. Scratch & Newton do a "Hutch Hugger" in the right size ( 195x72x56 ) and it's not too silly a price, but I was wondering if anyone here could recommend an alternative?

I'd also be interested in hearing about any home-made cover ideas too. Any chance of saving some pennies and hubby will be pleased. :D

I bought a hutch from my neighbour and she's insulated it well. It has tarpaling over the top and sides. Then on the mesh doors i have two perspex covers (with air holes) i can remove and add depending on weather. I also have a large piece of perspex i place on the roof of it like an overhang to help keep the rain off. I dont have a photo, but i will see if i can get on for you tomorrow.

x.

I had a hutch cover made by a seller on ebay, I'll look up the details it was for a 7ft hutch with under-run, it has night covers etc and cost @£80.00. You can also buy rolls of waterproof fabric off ebay and a clear pvc table cloth if your handy with a sewing machine and make your own for about £20.00 which is what I did for my 5ft 3 tier before I moved it inside.

Abi_nurse - I would love to see your setup when you get a moment to post a piccie. :)

Trish&Ewan - I've looked at the hutch snuggle a few times. It seems a nice idea, but it is rather pricey considering it needs to be bought in addition to the main cover.

crumpets - I found a chap on ebay who makes custom covers last night, is he the same one you're referring to: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180899452738 I've sent him a message asking for a quite but haven't heard back yet. Unfortunately I'm next to useless with a sewing machine lol.
