I have recently bought a new double layered hutch and I'm finding it really difficult to clean.
My old hutch didn't take long to do and i wouldn't mind regularly doing it, I sometimes did it a couple of times a week

With the new hutch I've found I dred the next clean out day as it seems to take forever to do and is really difficult trying to get to the different areas and get everything out. I also don't ever seem to get it clean and it smells even all the sawdust and hay has been removed.

It's a double hutch with floors your supposed to slide out, but I found sliding them out too difficult and I ended up with sawdust and poo spilt everywhere.
I now use a dustpan and brush.

Does anyone else have problems cleaning the hutch out or have any idea on how I could make it easier before I have a breakdown lol

At the moment i put just newspaper in the bottom level with a hidey house full of hay
The top layer has sawdust and the sleeping section full of hay
By the time it gets to cleaning day the bottom is covered in sawdust that fallen from the top and hay they have pulled out from the hidey house, the top is just covered I dirty sawdust and hay that is both inside and outside the sleeping section.

Is here anything else I could try :(
I've thought about fleece but I'd rather not use that

hi,ive two double hutches that are 6 feet in length.i find it is alot of bending down for bottom level!i have placed lino tiles on the hutch floors.i use puppy pads and aubiose/softchip on main areas.then i use cat litter trays and put megasorb in and place hidey houses in trays, and stuff with hay, change hay daily, and change megasrb midweek.i use vet bed in sleeping /bedroom area.it takes me approx 3 hours to clean all floors and change bedding.fleece can get damp if used in a unheated shed, garage etc,it is more difficult to clean, but piggies have a play area at bottom of hutch which i find useful.:)

The bottoms of the hutch are plastic which does make it a little bit easier to clean.

I don't think cat litter trays would fit inside, I suppose one might make cleaning out the sleeping area easier.

The hay gets scattered around so much i can't change it daily but I do keep adding fresh hay to the main sleeping area.

I have thought about blocking off the bottom
Section overnight so they can only use the top bit to see if that helps, but I feel bad restricting them to the top bit only, will help keep them warm in wanted though as that is where all the extra padding and insulation is going to go when I put it on.
