I use Supreme Carefresh which is a recycled paper bedding that is very absorbent and keeps bad smells out, Carefresh is available at most bed stores. I also use straw in their bedding area as it's a good insulator and keeps them warm and they can burrow into it. If you buy straw make sure it is cut short and soft as cheaper brands don't take as much care and hard long spiky bits can be present. I use Supreme Russel Straw as it's very soft and cut short to prevent spiky bits.

Sorry I meant to write "it is not cut short". But they shouldn't be eating straw they should be eating hay as that's where they get fibre.I don't understand that - I always thought that straw was more likely to cause eye pokes than hay - if its short cut, how can they burrow under it and if they could how can short cutting it prevent spikey bits ?/
I give mine green oat straw for eating, but never for bedding - it's always hay and lots of it for the bedroom bits and I do worry about eye pokes but the benefit they get from the hay outweighs that I hope :...
I use Megazorb in the "outside" hutches for the greatest absorbancy (they aren't quite outside but in an insulated garage)
