Hi all

We have three sow guinea pigs at the moment and am looking to replace their hutch which I feel they have outgrown.

My question is: what is IDEAL for them?

Is a hutch and run combo as per the link below enough and then move this round the garden once a week?

Or do we need that PLUS another run for them to be in?

We are not really constrained by size but am really after something that is easy for us and good for them!

Thanks

Richard

Hiya!

That's great - very nice indeed. Personally I would have a seperate run too as you don't have space issues. They will polish off the grass in a day or two and to save the grass if you can alternate where they are on a daily / second daily routine your grass will come back better and thank you for it.

Thanks for the speedy reply...

You are right - probably best to get a separate run as well...

Do you see any issues moving the hutch/run combo around? My wife said that she didn't think it was a good idea and that they should be in the same place?

It looks nice! How big is the upstairs part? Just thinking that if next winter will be anything like this one they might not be able to use the downstairs much and will have to share the upstairs.

I think it would be a little hard to move around so maybe a separate run that you can move around easier to give them fresh grass? I think the hutch run should be moved sometimes too (the grass will be full of poop after a while) but maybe just once a week or so.

I think it looks nice. :) I also agree with getting a separate run. ;) I'm sure it will be fine for winter also, the upstairs part looks very deep. :)
