Hello!
My two new furry friends came home on Saturday... They are settling in nicely and it's so lovely to notice their distinct personalities... One being a lot cheekier than the other!

I've got them in a hutch in the shed but I'm quite disappointed with the hutch ... I feel like it's way too small for them! It's 4 foot long with a top and bottom but they are not using the ramp... So I've removed it to give them more room downstairs.

I intend on getting them a much larger hutch also because I hope to adopt a third one after Christmas!

So I'm wondering about this one and whether it's suitable for 3?

Buy Lazy Bones Giant Wooden Rabbit/Guinea Pig Hutch at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Small pet habitats and cages.

My other option is to have one made especially by a carpenter friend of my mum

Is there anything else you guys can recommend?

In the mean time I'm giving them lots of love, care and attention and floor space within a large play pen area!

Thank you!

Carpenter made would be better quality and you can have it any size you want.Good luck in your search.

Hi Cristina

Welcome to the forum.
I agree with MadGuineaLady, a good carpenter would make a sturdy replacement but there are also some very good hutches on the market too, check out the Housing/Hutch section for ideas.

I read you mentioned about getting a third piggy, just bear in mind a few things. Your third needs to be quarantined for (from memory 8 wks, am sure I will be corrected if wrong - been a long day), depending on the sex of the piggies as you didn't mention if you have boars or sows, more than 2 boars tend not to get on very well, quite a bit off fighting tends to happen. Not everyone is in favour of having a trio, although I had no problem with some of mine. And of course there is always the excitement of the bonding session too. If you are interested in having more piggies, perhaps a 2 tier hutch and getting another couple instead of.

Exciting times ahead! Look forward to seeing pigtures of your lovely fluffs.

I've got two little lady piggies ... Rosie (left) and Lily (right)... They don't fight as such but I am detecting some bitchy bickering between the two... Lily is the cheeky one... For example when Rosie is trying to eat, Lily will come along and make her presence known and Rosie will immediately withdraw from the food bowl! I think of it as sibling rivalry! I'm wondering if a third girl might diffuse the situation a little? The third one I want to adopt is one that I wanted to adopt originally but couldn't because it turns out she's pregnant! 4 would be awesome!
