I have three piggies two six month old girls and an old man. They are in a large c and c on fleece. This is my first experience with fleece and I really like it apart from the little darlings burrowing under the corners of the fleece and sleeping under it and therefore pooing and weeing under it onto the corex!

Currently I have half a brick at each corner and this has stored them but takes up space and looks a bit rubbish. They have fleece tunnels so it's not like they have no where to snuggle.

Had anyone had this problem and found a good solution please

Guinea pigs love to burrow under loose fabric. There's something about having something over them that makes them feel extra safe. I would suggest giving them an acceptable outlet rather than trying to fight their instincts. A loose sheet of fleece or an old towel would give them something to snuggle that would be easier for them and acceptable for you.

When they come out for lap time, mine LOVE burrowing in an old hoodie. They adore the sleeves and the hood in particular. Maybe buy an XL hoodie and cut the sleeves off so they can burrow/explore. The hoodie will look like it’s haunted, but at least it’s fun to look at 😂

I have sewn Velcro to the edges of my fleece and glued the other side to the base of the cage, it sticks down so they can’t burrow but you can still remove it to wash

I had to clip the girls’ fleece to the sides as they kept burrowing! But it’s sometimes hard to poop scoop without shifting it. So I may try the Velcro trick if I have the energy. It would make my life easier to use liners rather than separate fleece and waterproof layer...though I was thinking of seeing the waterproof to the fleece....
