Dilly's Piggies
Teenage Guinea Pig
My girl Teasel had 2 lovely little babies almost 4 weeks ago now, 2 girls named Lottie and Harriet, they are precisely 3 weeks and 5 days old. They have both been handled carefully every day since birth by allsorts of people in an attempt to tame them, but Harriet is getting perhaps a little too confident with people and has begun biting to get her own way (go back to the cage). Every time I hold Harriet the biting is getting harder and more frequent.
Her sister Lottie is an absolute dream, she has never even put her teeth against my skin and she sits in my hand lovely for cuddles, I have no concerns for her, but Harriet is a bit too sassy, very much like her Mum! I know babies of all species explore the world with their mouth, but this isn't a curiosity thing, she is definitely doing it on purpose in an attempt to evade handling, I want to change this as soon as I can, I know she is still young and it will take time, but I want to be going in the right direction in order to end up with a lovely friendly little piggy that likes cuddles... I am keeping both of these babies so I have all the time in the world to turn them into lovely family pets.
Piggy on the left is Lottie and piggy on the right is Harriet, they were only 1 week old here, they are much bigger now!
