My guinea pigs are always running away from me when I come near them . I have only had them for three weeks.

Running away is a perfectly natural reaction to, what is to them, a new predator. It will take time before they see you as a friend and provider of veg. Regular gentle and quiet handling, hand-feeding, and a soft voice will encourage them to be less nervous of you. It may take weeks, months or even years, but don't give up.

Running away is a very normal reaction for prey animals that are not used to human interaction. Trust is a tender plant that takes time to grow. Unfortunately, guinea pigs are not instant animated cuddling toys, as so many people are made to believe!
