Hi everyone!

I have had enough of the non Summer and am going to move my pigs back indoors today :) (especially after finding 4 slugs in the hutch yesterday - bleurgh!)

I am worried though as I have 2 males and a 120cm cage as I feel it is too small. Is there any way I can extend it without incurring a lot of cost? I can't really attach a run as the cage is in a carpeted bedroom.

Thanks so much for any ideas

I think as long as you are giving your boys plenty of run time outside the cage they will be okay in the 120, depending on their relationship and how bonded they are! If you really wanted to attach a run, it is doable - you could put a shower curtain down to protect the carpet then their normal bedding on top, or maybe fleece bedding would be easier for this :)

Maybe it's just me, but that might be a little too small. There is a run think you can get from P@H, but others might know more about that. Also, you can get C&C runs premade, but it might be less expensive getting your own. If you don't mind not getting more solid grids for a C&C (I think they're made of metal?) as they've gone up in a price quite a bit, you can get a bunch of plastic grids for around twenty pounds. I'll find the link if you'd like :) You'd be able to expand and move it sorrounded to how you want it like that.

I used the plastic vonhaus grids to make my full cage.Make sure you get the square 36cm grids, some are rectangular. The good thing about them as well is you can cut them so you could make a hole where the cage door is for them to access the run.Either a big bit of link, groundsheet or cortex would protect your carpet
