I'm thinking of adding a loft to the pigs cage and have enough grids to make the loft and a ramp made from bent grids. I've seen ramps made from grids before but what do you put on the grid ramp to allow them to walk on it?

I didn't have one on Teddy's cage, but for what I've seen you could add some cardboard or correx on top of the grids and then a bit of carpet, so it's more comfortable to walk in?

I have seen cortex and then your absorbent material and fleece or just fleece with absorbent material pinned on it

Thanks everyone but I've given up with the idea of a loft. I can't get the loft or ramp to feel secure. It all feels bouncy! What a waste of an evening haha, got to take it all down now

I hear you! I made a c&c cage and now have to take it down for a Midwest.... all that work!

Thanks for the link to those supports, I have never seen those before.

And wow your piggies are so lucky. If you don't use c&c for your main cage, what do you use now?

My guinea pigs had to move into a shed . I had them in a C&C when they were indoors .. Originally, I moved the C&C into the shed - but, I didn't feel comfortable . They were fine ! - but I was paranoid that a cat or a fox would break in . So... I had a 2 tier hutch made for them . I am much happier with them in a hutch . I never dismantled the loft area as I love it so much ! I also kept the grids and I now use them as an extension on the hutch .

I have posted some pictures of my current set up here ...
