Hello,

We have two rescue piggies, five months old and are new to this!
They live in a single Chartwell hutch, five foot long. As the evenings get cooler we are thinking about insulating the hutch. What's the best thing to do? I know we can buy the hutch snuggle but what other methods work? We will move them to the garage when it gets really cold but want them in the garden for as long as possible.

Hey, I have the same. Yep i use the hutch hugger and cover.
I need boxes filled with hay, snuggle safes, cozy beds too. I do quite a bit more too, carpet on the doors to help with draughts.
I have extra cover at night which goes over the front of the hutch and under the plastic cover. You can also use a heated dog bed too as it has an armoured cable and lay a nice fleece over the top and it plugs in, but just remember is has a transformer so the plug is large. These work really well.

Search results for query: hutch insulation have a flick through these threads on this search.

The forum software has a really good search function and is a repository of info, your bound to find some tips as well as our members commenting on this thread also

Hope that helps :)

Following this as this will be my first winter. I have a Chartwell and use a hutch snuggle and cover. I’ve ordered two fleece hot water bottles and extra fleece! Lots of hay too keep them warm! I’m getting a thermometer too so I can monitor the temp from inside my house xx

Great advice thank you!
I didn't realise the search function was so good 🤦🏼‍♀️
