Recently had to bring my three piggies inside due to the weather getting bad and the only cage we had spare is far too small for them. We tried to give them a run but Billy managed to move a litterbin and a brick to get out. The run we used wasn't very high and probably not very strong.
I'm desperate to give them some more space but it HAS to be secure. I have two other boars in that room, Dusty and Whizz and I'm really nervous about Billy getting in with them. He grew up with them and ended up attacking them both and whenever he gets anywhere close to their cage they go MENTAL, running around and humping one another.
Billy, however, gets very aggressive. I swear that he goes to find them just to chatter his teeth at them.
Please help me to know what to do. I've recently got a job babysitting and hopefully I'll have enough to buy a pen. Another cage is probably out of the question, however as we don't have enough space in the playroom and a limited amount of storage for it when it comes back to summer.
If needs be I can re-arange some of the furniture in the piggie-room but I really am desperate to give them more space. After reading how much they should have I feel horrified with myself but we could hardly leave them outside in their hutch all winter!
Also, I don't have a shed to put them in so we can't do that either.
Please help!

I use a 4 x 2 run of grids for during the day. Put newspaper down on the floor then fleece and pop them in there. Would that work? Or one of those puppy play pens you can buy on eBay and the likes? I think some were from £20. Something like this from Argos! http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8706595.htm
If you have a corner you can use, open out the metal grids and use two house walls to make it even larger? Not sure if any of these suggestions help!

I don't know whereabouts in Yorkshire you are but if you can get to a JTF Warehouse (Leeds & Rotherham) they may stock the wire mesh cubes I got for my run I use indoors, they are around £10 a pack.

I see, can I attach these puppy play pens firmly to the cage? Or will I have to buy something extra to attach them? I will do if needs be.
Also, Poppy'sMum I live very close to Leeds but I've never heard of the JTF warehouse. However, I do have an argos extra very close to me. I really want to give my babies more space and I know how much they love to run about.

Just spoken to mum, she says there is a huge possibility that my sister could be allergic to the guinea-pigs. If it turns out she is we'll have to move them anyway and they'll get more space then.
Won't be able to get the pen until we know for definate if she is allergic or not as it would be a waste to spend money on a pen, find out she is allergic then have to move them and get rid of the pen. I'd much rather keep the pen money for now and when we find out the results get them new cages/hutches accordingly. If I spend time to give them a supervised run out in the playroom every day do you think they would be alright just for the next few days until we find out her results?

You could probably attach the playpens with cable ties very securely, and they're very cheap from hardware stores and such.

I live near Leeds... I BELIEVE JTF Warehouse is behind Birstall retail park (where Ikea is)..? But isn't it like Costco -- you have to be registered with them to shop?

Please someone let me know if this is wrong, because that's what has been putting me off the place!

If it is one of the pens held together with posts that go through loops in the panels (like the one you can get from P@H) then you can just weave the post between the bars of the cage between the top and bottom of the panel, this is what we do. I'll try and get a picture later :)
