I'm sure I've seen a description of how to give meds to guinea pigs somewhere, but now that I need it, I can't find it.

Our new boy was neutered this morning, and I was told to give him a pain killer (Loxicom) for three days starting tomorrow. I guess I insert the syringe from the side, behind his front teeth, and squeeze gently?

Yes. Loxicom tastes nice (painkillers always do as they are most important to get down if a piggy is really not feeling like anything), so it shouldn't be too much of a struggle.

Most of my piggies have just taken loxicom standing in their cage, let them realise there's something tasty there and once they start licking the end of the syringe, slowly syringe as they lick. If he's groggy it might not be the best time for that, but something to bear in mind. Hope he does OK.
