So, my piggies have an infection and they have to take a lot of meds - all orally. However, they don't like it and I tried to force the vitamin c in their mouth but they got stressed. can I put a few drops of the medicine on their veggie pieces? will it work? Please help. They need their medicine or the illness will get severe. i can't lose them. I'm out of my wits.

When getting them to take their medication, you do just need to be forceful, hold their head and get the syringe in the mouth. Giving them liquid vit c during a period of illness is no different to that process.
The risk, if you put their medication on their veggies, is that they will taste the meds on it and simply not eat the veg. The best way really is just to be quick and get the syringe in.

What medications are they on?

Hi

Our Syringe feeding and medicating guide contains further practical tips with videos and pictures on what you can do with uncooperative piggies: All About Syringe Feeding and Medicating Guinea Pigs with Videos and Pictures

What are your piggies being treating for?

I had one pig on chronic meds, so I've done this a lot. The best method I've found is to prepare the syringe in advance and have it close at hand. Then put your pig on your lap facing away from you. Put your non-dominant hand underneath your pig's belly and support them so that you have them standing on their back feet with their backs pressed against your belly. With the other hand, reach around the side with the pre-prepared syringe and insert the syringe into the side of the mouth, between the front incisors and the back molars. Hope this helps a bit!
