This may sound weird or silly. I have a pig (Little Bear) who was found in a fried chicken box with his now deceased brother in October 2020. I adopted his new brother in December. This morning for the first time since I've had him, I heard Little Bear trying to wheek. He is 6 yrs old and has a very quiet voice. I'm wondering if there is any way to encourage him to wheek more! I'm so happy after a life of torment and then being thrown out, he is feeling happy enough to wheek. His new brother wheeks quite often (plastic bags and opening doors make him wheek and look for food), so I'm sure that he picked up the habit.

There’s nothing you can really do to encourage wheeking. They generally either do it or they don’t. Or they’re half way.

If he needs to use his voice he will.
My Phoebe rarely wheeks - she always had another pig to do it for her and now she’s learnt that a look will suffice for me.
