How to clean bedding.

I'm going to put some blankets in for my new GP but I'm wondering how should I clean these, and how often. do I handwash with baby powder, or put into the washing machine-or both? I know this is a silly question, but want to get it right-also GP has fungal prob-would that make any difference?

the best thing to do is put the bedding into an old pillow case, and tie up with a twistie, put into washing machine, and use normal washing powder non biological if you prefer, but do not use fabric conditioner, or two in one powders, as it causes a barrier and the wee won't absorb through to the newspaper it will sit on top of the material.
