I ended up getting 3 female piggies on saturday and am letting them settle in. I have been talking to them and they have been taking food from my hands. I tried very breifly earlier to pick one up, and she was having none of it.

I am worried when it comes to cleaning, just how I am going to be able to get them out. I don't want to block them into a corner to grab them, nor chase them round to get them.

I left the door open and put a small bridge there, but they didn't venture out, so that, as of now, is not an option either.

I know that they will settle down soon, I just want a way to get them out without stressing them further before it comes to cleaning time...

Oh, and there will be pictures once I get my laptop back!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

What works for me, is I wait for them to go into their cozies, and then just pick up the cozie with the piggie inside. A lot more secure for them.

Can't wait to see pigtures :))

Like the other replies I use a pigloo to catch them. My two girls also hate being picked up and scream their heads off like I'm killing them. This way I just gently encourage them to run into pigloo, then place my hand over front so they can't jump out. I then gently lower pigloo into the run and they pop out happy as larry and no stress, running or screaming. I'm trying to tame mine also and intend on picking them up eventually but for now I'm getting them used to me stroking them and in time when theyre happy with that, I'll move to picking up. I had started picking them up by hand but it got so stressful for me and them and I nearly dropped one. This way is so much better. Good luck.

Well after a visit to Wilkos today, I picked up some tubes. Managed to move all 3 with no stress whatsoever! One even decided she wanted lots of attention from me which I was really surprised about!

Anyway, thank you for waking my brain up. Thats just how I moved my hamsters and gerbils when I first got them, and I can't belive I didn't think of it this time! Feel silly asking the question now!:x
