I was on you tube earlier and watching a vid of a group of piggies

who started the usual whoop whooping for their food....the sound was on normal and Winston's ears pricked up and he started whoop whooping in time

Bless him it was sooooooooo sweet....

The piggies sounded slightly like a higher tone than Winston's I wondered if boys have a different pitch whoop whoop to girls?

(As a matter of fact I am looking at a young boy piggie at our local RSPCA funnily enough as a view to being Winston's new boyfriend..tomorrow

- do you think the young lad is trying to tell me something)

....just wondered....

It depends on the piggy. I have 3 boys; Huxley - i've never heard him wheek at all (he's almost 4). Hamish only wheeks now and again but popcorns (he too is almost 4). Toddie makes a little chirrup noise & Maddie, my only girl can be heard wheeking as soon as i open the back door . :)):))

My female is the only one who wheeks... Her mother only make disgruntled noises when they are invading her space and my boar makes clucking noises when he is happy, waiting for food, or is covered in hay...:)

All mine have different sounding wheeks, a couple dont wheek at all!
Fifi is the loudest wheeker and it has a very long tone, sounds more like a wolf whiste :))
