After losing my darling Sheldon today I am worried about his cage mate Hurley. He is a lot quieter today as he is grieving and missing Sheldon. I was just wondering what the recommended time is to introduce a new mate. Do I have to let him grieve first?

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your piggy :(
I think it's best to let them grieve first, but I'm not really sure on how long you should leave it, hopefully someone can come along and give more information.
Once again sorry for your loss :(

I would wait until Hurley comes out of deep mourning after a few days. Make sure that he has a cuddly toy to snuggle up with until then. I also have found it helpful to a bereaved piggy if it had something that smelled of its companion to snuggle into during the first days.

The best way to rebond boars is by "boar dating" them at a good rescue under expert supervision, so you maximise the chances of success but minimise the risk of ending up with two boars who don;t get on or have a fall out.
Here is our map of recommendable rescues; many of them offer boar dating. It is worth ringing around; you are lucky to have several rescues within reasonable reach!

He has a cuddly toys but so far ignored it..bless him. He seems to be more perky the last half an hour or so :(|)

When he's ready I will look into a rescue buddy and give boar dating a whirl x

I waited a few days before I put teddy in with the girls,he's neutered!

He just seemed so down and lonely!:(

sorry for your loss!x
