I would like to get feed back from other forum members on bedding.I'm using soft chip, bliss, bedding.in a 6x2 cage .ive 5 piggies in one cage, and 3 boars in the other 6x2 cage.I'm changing the whole bedding every 4 to 5 days is this what most of you experience?or is there a more absorbent bedding that lasts 7 days ?i use disposable puppy pads under the bedding ,as i do not get newspapers.Just interested to get others opinions.

I use fleece liners (fleece outer, zorb or toweling inner) in a 8x2 C&C with 4 guinea pigs (1 boar, 3 sows).
I comfortably get a week out of the liner, although I change pee pads in high traffic areas every 2 - 3 days.
In total it makes 1 full load of washing a week.

I use fleece liners too. I use a larger one at the bottom which will usually last a week. I have about 3 or 4 smaller liners that i put on top which i change on a Tuesday and Saturday ( unless i can smell anything then they get changed straight away ! )....

I use fleece in a puppy pen (liners from ziggys and also towels/fleece) too and easily get a week out of it...I'm actually very surprised that you can't smell the piggies at all indoors!

Pretty much this for me too. The main liner is fleece lined with Zorb which is changed once a week but swept a couple of times a day. Then I have Zorb lined fleece piddle pads under hideys and in other high traffic areas, which are usually changed every other day. In addition, they have an underbed storage box lined with Megazorb and filled with hay. I change the hay daily and scoop out and replace wet Megazorb as required, changing it completely once a week.

I probably do 2 loads of washing a week as the liner has to be washed on its own as it fills my machine. The piddle pads would constitute another full load.

I have a 5x2 for my three for summer when the shed is too hot and I use the same hemp bedding - Aubiose with nothing underneith, just the corre.x They're in it from Sunday eve to Friday eve (in the dining room free range at the weekend) and I clean it out fully at the weekend. I spot clean wet patches and change the hay in the houses twice a day. I turn all the Aubiose over and take out the wet bits and poops and re use the clean bedding. It will go a full 7days if it has to, as long as the spot cleaning is done. The Aubiose does go *everywhere* though!

I use incontinence pads under fleece, and change weekly, although I am using extra pads in high pee areas so I can change mid week as an experiment. I do use Aubiose in the hay box, which is then filled with hay and changed daily.

I use puppy pads in the pen, which are changed every two days, as the girls are in the pen for some time. I think they prefer their more spacious C&C cage however.
