Quick one, I have received a leaflet that states each Piggle should have a metre squared in their living quarters. I know the RSPCA suggestion is 4 foot by 2 foot minimum for two, which equates to one foot squared per pig. I'm guessing the bigger the better?
In a C&C is it best to leave a space for them to run around, as well as boxes, hidey's, igloos? Am wondering if I need to extend! Suggested size for five would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

I have 5 in a stacked 2x4 with kitchen floor and they have plenty of room they run around all the time i do let them out a couple time's a week aswell

Basically, the bigger the better...

On the continent, forums have been recommending 1 sq metre especially per boar for quite some time now - but most of us simply do not have this amount of space; 1 square metre equals pretty closely a 2x5 C&C grid layout!

Thanks so much. Mine are in a 5 x 3 C&C which is bigger than RSPCA's recommendation, I calculated, per pig. But it's not as big as one metre squared. B-( They are way happier than they were in their previous enclosure, and I do have room to extend to make it a 5 x 4 grid, so I think a trip to ebay is imminent! TY X x (would an extra piece of correx attach OK to the existing one?)

how big is your existing cage? do they all live in one? I'm assuming all girls or maybe one boy?

we have 14 girls and two boys, the cage size at the moment is 7 x 5 with an upstairs of 4 x 3. the seem to be ok with this, but we just feel that they could do with a little bit more room.

You can always try and get creative by adding more floors if you are running out of ground space. With such a big contruction, there is always a balance to strike between space and easy accessibiliy for cleaning etc.

As long as you are keeping above the RSPCA guidelines and are doing your best to provide as much space as you can, I think you are doing fine!
