As most of you will know I recently lost one of my pigs unexpectedly. She was in a group of 3. She left behind 2 very sad piggies who seem to be mouring her?
I also have another group of 4 who I recently took on, once they are all clear and I know it was nothing contagious (sp) do you think it will be possible to bond them all together? Cheeky (from the pair) is very fiesty and it took us ages to get her to like winnie and wonda.
They all go out into a run together with a few scuffles but never nothing serious and definately no physical contact! Just a bit of squeaking and chattering, but iv never ever put them into a cage together.
Do you think this is a good idea or would you leave them as they are?
Has any body else got a large group like that who successfully live together?

I am sure there will be people on here with much more experience than I but it is a case of temperments and space. Do you have two top piggies who are unlikely to reliquish their crown easily, in which case the lose may not be too happy and secondly do you have a cage that will take that number of pigs?

One of the pigs (cheeky) will deffo be the boss! All the others are very laid back and don't seem to mind at all! I was just worried that I would upset everything, but at the same time wondered if they would like the company of more piggers?

They are already in the cage I plan to put them in. Its 7ft x 2ft x 2ft with 2 levels with a run that can be attached (my grandad built it!) At the moment the ladder is blocked with the 1 group down the bottom and the other up the top.

I am up to four girls and a neutered male, but there a other people on here with even bigger girl groups.

In my opinion, it should be possible. If they get along in the run, they should get on indoors. Make sure you have them on neutral territory an dtransfer them to a thoroughly cleaned cage with ideally moved furnishings, so it's a bit new to everybody!

One of the zoo's we took the kids to (I think it was at Bristol Zoo i saw it), that they have a crazy amount of female piggies living colony style - were talking several dozen here, in the petting zoo area next to the kids playpark.

Didnt seem to be any fighting!

Tony

As long as they all get on without fighting then it would be fine to put them all together in a size cage that's big enough :)
