I currently have 2 sows living in a cage 1m x 1.2m. I am not as yet planning to increase the number in here, but wondered technically how many could fit? I have been trying to work this out but most people tend to have longer thinner cages, ours has to be more square because of where it is in our house. Our two love it, plenty of space for them!

I think the maximum would be 2 pigs. As the size is 8 square ft.

This is a great site for Guinea Pig cage sizes: http://www.guineapigcages.com/

Still trying to work out Square ft, I think it's only big enough for 2 but then again my maths isn't the best.

Guinea Pig cages states cage size for 2 pigs is: 30" x 50"

Your cage is: 39.37" x 47.2" so although its slightly bigger for 2 it doesn't meet the Guinea Pig cage sizes for 3.

Which is 30" x 62".

I think thats right.

I dunno, I thought that would be over 13 square feet. Which I think could easily fit 4 sows. I like square cages too :)

If you say that the cage is 3.3ft X 4ft then it's pretty big. That's about the size of the runs I have for mine, which seem like they could fit 3 or 4.

I think I'm right, I dunno, let me see, 1m is 100cm right? And there are 30cm in a foot? I'm doubting myself now!

The cage is 13 sq ft - 4 ft x 3.25ft

So I'd say easily a trio or a well bonded quad.

Hurrah! I think my 2 girls are very spoilt atm though - OH thinks they have more space for their relative size than him! I'm glad they have lots of space- and I can show him these replies to prove that we could add to our pair if we wanted to (well, if I could make him!). Thankyou all xx

Btw i know it says that the cage we bought was £105, but when we went to get it, it was actually £60.00, which was brilliant, and it wasn't even on sale that was it's actual price. xx
