How many guinea pigs in a 3x3 cage?

I am looking into getting a c&c in the new year some time but cant work out how many piggies would be ok in a 3x3 cage? Am trying to have a little move around in my room and working out how to fit in a c&c suitable for 2 guinea pigs. Thanks.
 
2 boys or a maximum of 3 girls/1 neutered boar & 2 girls if it is a C&C cage. Ideally, you offer some more loft space with three piggies, as that is pushing the limit.
 
thanks. It would only be for two guinea pigs. But i realised i would need two cages as i will have a lone piggie so would need to fit a 120cage also for her or another c&c. think i have to re think this...lol. oh well. wish i had a bigger space :-( x
 
thanks for the pics...i would stack a c&c yes...but i cant work out a way of having the bottom cage closed and still alowing easy access for cleaning etc... as i have a dog althoigh he dosnt come in my room without me...i would need a closed cage. ...just cant work out how to make a closed double c&c with good access ....hmmmm
 
wow thanks....thats a really good idea x am going to investigate further....why didnt i think of that... x
