hey guys and gals
a good few months ago Dudley and Yuri had to be seperated due to blood being drawn after a cornering inncident.
they live in a c&c cage side by side so they can see and chatter to each other.
I would really like to reintroduce them but am worried too much time has past.

when their cages are cleaned they roam the floor together and obviosly rumble etc but still play follow the leader which makes me live in hope that I may be able to reintroduce them, I hate having to give seperate floor time but I'm scared of putting them back together and leaving them just incase but they were happy until that one incident...any advise? X

If they are happily sharing floor time you could try then in a cage together but keep a close eye on them as you mentioned blood was drawn. If it happens again they would need to be split for good.

thanks, they've just had their clean out and seemed ok again on floor time, the usual rumblings and Dudley appears to be submisive now, letting Yuri have the highest head etc so next time I do their big clean I will do it on a Saturday morning, bathe them and then try it as I will have all weekend in the room watching them.
at the minute everytime they are cleaned I swap them over to each others sides to try and avoid them getting protective over having a specific cage, perhaps this has helped as they go into a different side every two weeks after its been thoroughly cleaned and washed of scent so Il keep you posted after the big reunion x

cleaning, bathing and then rebonding in tee minus 30 mins...wish me luck :-)

I would definitely give it a try, under supervision for a while in case there is a problem.

well they r in and doing their own thing currently, bath definately helped along with the huge bowls of veggies. don't worry they will be supervised now until Sunday night, thats why I done it today so I had a couple of days to sit with them and not leave the house

24 hours on and to my surprise I have found them actually sharing a hay basket chilling out, this never happened when they were first together, dont get me wrong we've had a few rumbles but 100 times better than I expected the last day to go, fingers crossed

Aw, this is great to hear. Ours are currently separated but I'm hoping that they can be together again sometime. The last time we tried them together at floor time, although they didn't get on very well they did follow eachother around a bit, which they didn't used to do in their cage. So maybe there's hope...

I really hope that yours are able to stay together. And really sweet piggies.

I am going through the exact same!e thing. My 2 boys keep fighting and have drawn blood so they are currently separated. Currently giving them supervised play times where they follow each other, squeek loudly, rumble and chatter their teeth but no crazy fighting. Planning to reintroduce them soon so will let you know tje Outcome! Fingers crossed they can live together again

The re-introduction didn't work. Did it by the book but I now have to accept that they just don't want to bond! I was so disappointed but had to accept it x hopefully yours may get along again though.

mine are still together, they seem content with being back together, the only time I hear rumbles etc is when foods involved, usually Dudley has munched his and wants yuri's and if one is at the too of the hay box and the other wants to get up the ramp.
its so lovely to have them back together :-)
