on the 8th August I adopted two neutered bores from the RSPCA. Now these two had the operation on the 5th - and I was told that the stitches were soluable ones.
Obviously I have been keeping an eye on the wounds to ensure no infection and I am surprised that the stitches are still there - 11 days later.
How long does it take for stitches to disolve?
Also the RSPCA said that in 10 days the piggies would no longer be fertile. Now I have kept them separate from my sow, and will continue to until I get another sow but I was wondering when is it safe to let one of the bores and Weena mix?
I would like to start introducing them during floor time so Weena can choose her future husband but have been told by the RSPCA that the 'deed' only takes a few seconds - therefore I would rather be safe then sorry.
Another question - am I right starting to introduce them to Weena now when the two boys will go back into their half of the cage i.e will this cause them to fight?
I don't like to put Weena and one of the boys together permanently yet as imo their cage is not big enough (am in the process of building the C&C) and I think newly introduced need lots of space.
