When looking around online, I struggled to find blueprints for making/building a guinea pig cage out of wood and plexiglass despite seeing pictures of them all over the internet. Don't get me wrong, it isn't difficult to do as long as you have the proper tools, the difficult part is figuring out how much and what materials you need in advance, dimensions for said materials, etc. So...for the future Googler looking to build a wooden/plexiglass cage, here's an outline of the process I went through while designing and creating mine!

Any questions about materials, dimensions, tools, etc. feel free to ask. Like I said this post is really to provide future builders with information I didn't have. Good thing I'm no stranger to math haha

(note the only thing incomplete is I don't have a photo with the fleece liner put on the floor, and the walls for the loft haven't been added due to lack of funds)

Thank you for sharing this with us! Will make sure I refer to it when get questions on building cages, from materials such as wood.

Have the piggies been in it yet?

I contacted a family friend to sow the fleece for me, I'm waiting on that and then she can go right in. The fleece will just slide around the acrylic floor for easy cleaning/replacing. She's been in the cage a couple times just to play around though. Despite being handy with tools I know nothing about sowing haha.
