Just considering whether to put my piggies into the run or if it's too hot? It's 26° out at the moment. The run would be in full shade and ice packs/cooling mats would be provided. They're happy enough in their hutch at the moment. Their hutch is inside a chicken coop with a white roof which deflects sun and keeps it really cool in there, about 10 degrees less than outside so I wouldn't want to upset them by putting them somewhere too hot. I've been erring on the side of caution with it and only putting them out in the evenings when sun fully gone from garden so far but just was wondering if that was really necessary, I don't want to deprive them of run time!

Erring on the side of caution is always a good thing when it comes to the heat! 25 or more is too warm for them
It depends on what the temperature in the run actually is - pop a thermometer in there and check the temperatures that they are actually going to be in. Be very aware of any warm breezes which will raise the temperature in the run.
Also, be aware that if piggies sit on ice packs etc then they are already feeling too warm. You want ice packs and cooling measures to be ignored as that way you know they are comfortable and don’t feel the need for them.

Hot weather warning for the UK - plan now to keep your piggies safe!

I've been pla ing my piggies in there runs at 4pm,when temp has dropped.i bri ng them in at 9.30pm.so they've had time to exercise and eat grass!I agree with piggies and buns.
