Hello !
It seems i will be soon upgrading from a 100cm Liberta cage (Currently for sale in the appropriate section) to a C&C cage, as my boys are growing so big now!
I just wanted to know how big people recomed the walls being up the side ?
I'm designing a cage in an L shape, where one side can be a max of 3 squares and the other up to 4 or 5, but I'm trying to make a loft too, so just trying to figure out how best to use my grids as i'd like to make a storage compartment out of grids underneath too.

Any help on how much bigger my correx should be than the actual cage will be would be great.
My piggies are jumpers, and think there some form of excape artists so any tips on how to keep them in would be great to, thank you :)

In general, the height of the wall is 6 inches. I've made 4 inches with no problem, but I use fleece. If you use loose bedding, you might want to make the walls a little higher.

I don't understand your question about how much bigger my correx should be than the actual cage. Usually the correx base would sit inside the grids so it shouldn't be bigger than the cage.

What I'm trying to ask is how big do i need my correx to be.
For example if i did a 170 by 70 cm cage, the correx would need to be in your case 178 by like 78 does that make sense ?
How much extra correx do i need to leave me enough to make the walls, i use fleece so it should be alright :)

Usually the whole sheet comes in 4x8 feet (48 x 96 inches). To make a 3 grid by 5 grid cage, it would be 42 x 70 inches. Then cut the L-shape from there. So you'd have 3 inches wall on the short sides and the rest you'd have extra.

It's hard to compute like this. You could also make 2 trays and tape them together to make it L-shape.

I recommend you make the grids first then measure the inside.

Edit to add: to calculate the size, you just need to add them up. Depends on how tall you want the sides to be. If your cage is 3x5 grid (42x70 inches), add 3 inches wall all around, you would need 48 x 76 inches of correx.

42 inch + 3 for first wall + 3 for the 2nd wall = 48
70 inch + 3 for first wall + 3 for the 2nd wall = 76

The correx on my trios C&C is two squares high giving them them a good view of the rest of the room. The hay loft is three squares high to keep the hay contained but still allowing us to see each other.
