How high does correx need to go up sides of cages?

doing a 5x3 cage would mean if i didn't bolt or stick any extra bits down side there's only about 2" spare correx either side & thus to go up side of cage which i presume wouldn't be enough......

Any thoughts on prefered, minimum or otherwise height requirements?

i have lino and i think its 6 inches high, maybe 7 i dont think there is a minimum or maximum requirement but with only 2 inches you are likely to have hay and poops falling out ;D

Yep about 7 inches would be fine.

How are you making the base? The recommended wall height is 6 inches. http://www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm

If your pieces of correx aren't big enough to score flaps to fold up for the sides then it can be easily joined using tape (like the silver coloured duct tape).

my correx is only about 3-4 inches at the sides

I use lino and in some places it is as low as about 3 inch and I've had no problems at all.
